Description

This is our DIY option. Instead of a fixed bundle, you choose the bag style and size, and we include a matching sticker label for every bag. You decide how much you pack, and which oxygen absorber to pair it with.
Oxygen absorbers are not included. For 1 Cup bags we recommend 300cc absorbers; add the matched pack above, or shop absorbers separately.

How to use

Fill the bag with dry goods like rice, beans, oats, flour or pasta. Gusset bags stand up on their own for hands-free filling.
Add the oxygen absorber (not included): 400cc per gallon of food. Press out the air.
Zip the gusset bags, then heat-seal across the top for a permanent seal. Flat bags are heat-sealed only.
Apply a label with contents and date. Store somewhere cool, dry and dark.

Do these come with oxygen absorbers?

No. These are bags and sticker labels only. Add the absorber sized for your bag from the box above, or choose our bundles if you want absorbers included.

Which oxygen absorber size do I need?

The rule of thumb is 400cc per gallon of food. We suggest 300cc for 1-cup, 1-pint and 1-quart bags, 400cc for 2-quart and 1-gallon, and 500cc for 2.5-gallon bags, which take two absorbers each. Each pack has 100 absorbers. Extra capacity does no harm.

How are these different from your bundles?

The bundles are all-in-one: bags, oxygen absorbers and labels in a set count. These are the DIY version. You pick the exact size, we include labels, and you add the absorbers you want.

Gusset or flat?

Gusset bags have a base that expands so they stand upright, which makes filling easier and shelves tidier. Flat bags stack neatly and save space. Both include labels.

How long will food last in these bags?

Up to 30 years for dry foods with less than 10% moisture content, when sealed with oxygen absorbers and stored somewhere cool, dry and dark.

Do I need a heat sealer?

For long-term storage, yes: heat-seal with an impulse sealer, hair straightener or clothes iron. Gusset bags also have a zipper for everyday use.
