Each 10″ × 14″ flat pouch holds about a gallon — the right size for rice, beans, flour, pasta and freeze-dried batches.
Includes 80 400cc oxygen absorbers, vacuum sealed in sets of 10 so they stay potent until you use them, plus 80 sticker labels for dating and contents.

How to use

Fill the bag with dry food, leaving a little headspace.
Add one 400cc oxygen absorber per gallon of food.
Press out excess air and heat-seal across the top. Rip tabs make opening easy.
Label and store somewhere cool, dry and dark.

How many oxygen absorbers do I need per bag?

We recommend 400cc per gallon of food, so one included 400cc absorber per 1-gallon bag. Extra absorber capacity does no harm, so you can’t overdo it.

How long will food last in these bags?

Up to 30 years for dry foods with less than 10% moisture content, like rice, beans, flour and pasta, when sealed with oxygen absorbers and stored somewhere cool, dry and dark. Foods with higher moisture content won’t last that long in Mylar.

Should I choose gusset or flat?

Gusset bags have a zip closure and a gusseted bottom so they stand upright, and they are 7.5 Mil each side. Flat pouches are 5 Mil each side (10 Mil total), lie flat, and are sealed with heat. Both are heat-sealable for long-term storage.

Do I need a heat sealer?

Yes. Flat pouches are sealed shut with a heat sealer, impulse sealer, hair straightener or clothes iron. Rip tabs make them easy to open later.

Are the bags food-safe?

Yes. They are food-grade and BPA-free with an internal foil layer that blocks light.

Can I reuse the bags?

Yes, if they are not punctured. Cut above the old seal, clean, refill and reseal. Use fresh absorbers each time.
